TRL 9

PA-UHF-001 is a compact 380 to 470 MHz UHF GaN power amplifier delivering approximately 4 W saturated output for CubeSat and SmallSat communications. Gain is 28 dB typical with 0.5 to 1 dB flatness across the band, switching in 1 to 2 µs from a 9 to 14 VDC supply. Available as COTS, configurable or fully custom, TRL 9, on a 69 x 33 x 9 mm circuit card at 28 g.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This class AB GaN solid-state power amplifier is designed for SWaP-constrained spacecraft applications, supporting a wide 9 to 14 VDC input range, fast transmit switching, baseplate conduction cooling and over-temperature protection. The topology is modulation-agnostic, supporting CW, AM and FM, OFDM, DVB and telecom waveforms without reconfiguration. Gain flatness is 0.5 to 1 dB peak to peak across the full 90 MHz band, input return loss is -15 dB, and maximum RF input is +16 dBm. Current draw is 0.8 A typical and 1.25 A maximum with 0.3 A quiescent. Thermal shutdown trips at a +90 °C baseplate temperature, with heatsink, fan-cooled and custom thermal configurations available. Interfaces are MMCX edge on RF input and output, with a 6-pin rectangular connector for DC and TTL enable. The card is 69 x 33 x 9 mm (2.7 x 1.3 x 0.339 in) at 28 g, rated -40 to +85 °C operating with 0 to 100% humidity tolerance and vibration to MIL-STD-810 and equivalents. Typical lead time for standard configurations is 8 to 10 weeks.
