It is the amplifier from CSA-S-001-RH supplied without the radiating element, for architectures where the antenna is already specified or the LNA needs to sit closer to the receiver. PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The 60 dBc rejection at 2200 MHz is the governing specification in practice, because on a full-duplex S-band spacecraft the dominant interferer is the vehicle's own transmitter. Gain is 26 to 32 dB and customisable on request, with noise figure of 2.2 dB typical and 3.5 dB maximum measured across the full operating temperature range. Supply is 4.5 to 12 VDC at 50 to 60 mA. The unit is 81 x 81 x 15 mm (3.2 x 3.2 x 0.59 in) at 110 g with SMA female RF and a DC feedthrough. Designed for the harsh conditions of space, the sealed and vented housing suits LEO, MEO and GEO operation over a five-year mission life. Qualification is to NASA GEVS (GSFC-STD-7000) with random vibration to 14.1 GRMS across a -70 to +100 °C operating and storage range, and radiation tolerance is 500 krad(Si) with no destructive single event effects observed to 37 MeV-cm²/mg. CSA-S-001-RH is the matching antenna. The amplifier also supports hardware-in-the-loop and irradiation testing.
