S-Band Dual-CP Wideband Omni Antenna

S-Band Dual-CP Wideband Omni Antenna

TRL 9

CSA-S-007-DC is a COTS passive S-band omni antenna combining full 2025 to 2300 MHz TT&C coverage with selectable RHCP, LHCP or simultaneous dual circular polarization. One aperture serves both link directions on either hand, so the mission is not locked to a single polarization at design time. Gain is 5.5 dBic typical with 80 to 90 degree half-power beamwidth and 2 to 3 dB axial ratio, 20 W handling, TRL 9 at 190 g.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Wideband coverage and dual polarization in one part suit operators working with more than one ground network, or commissioning a constellation against ground infrastructure that is not fully specified at the time the spacecraft is designed. The antenna is passive throughout, with no current draw and no active device requiring radiation screening. Multipaction margin is 10 dB verified at the full 20 W rating, and VSWR is 2:1 through SMA female interfaces. The envelope is 97 x 97 x 18 mm (3.8 x 3.8 x 0.7 in) at 190 g, under 1U. Built for the harsh conditions of space operation across LEO, MEO and GEO, the sealed and vented housing addresses corona, multipaction, atomic oxygen and MMOD. Qualification is to NASA GEVS (GSFC-STD-7000) with random vibration to 14.1 GRMS, humidity per MIL-STD-810 Method 507.6, and a -70 to +100 °C operating and storage range. ATH-S-005-DC is the matching dual-CP test hat and characterises both polarization paths. Certain small-volume orders can ship within days rather than the months typically quoted for space-qualified hardware.
