S-Band Dual-CP Wideband Omni Test Hat

S-Band Dual-CP Wideband Omni Test Hat

ATH-S-005-DC is a COTS dual circular polarization antenna test hat for CSA-S-007-DC, covering the full 2025 to 2300 MHz S-band TT&C allocation. One fixture verifies both link directions on both hands of polarization, four signal paths that would otherwise require two hats and a reconfiguration. Coupling is 1 to 5 dB with a 3 dB typical, 43 dBm handling, 2.5:1 VSWR, 250 g at 97 x 97 x 64 mm.

S-band active receive antenna

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

On a dual-CP wideband antenna there are four paths that can independently fail: transmit and receive, RHCP and LHCP. A campaign exercising one combination verifies a quarter of the hardware. This fixture covers all four in one setup. Coupling is 1 to 5 dB with a 3 dB typical across the full 275 MHz span, characterised on both polarizations, so a functional check produces a complete picture of the antenna before the panel is closed. The RF shielded enclosure protects personnel during transmit testing and contains S-band energy within the test area. The hat seats on mounting features already present on the antenna, requires no bracket on the spacecraft, and dismounts without tooling. The envelope is 97 x 97 x 64 mm (3.8 x 3.8 x 2.51 in) at 250 g with an SMA female interface, rated -70 to +100 °C operating and storage so it can remain fitted through thermal cycling. CSA-S-007-DC is the matching antenna.
