S-Band Dual-CP RX Omni Test Hat
ATH-S-001-DC is a COTS dual circular polarization antenna test hat for CSA-S-002-DC, covering 2025 to 2120 MHz. Presenting both RHCP and LHCP, it verifies each polarization path independently, which is the only way to confirm that a dual-CP antenna performs on both hands before the spacecraft is closed out. Coupling is 3.5 dB typical with 43 dBm handling and 2.5:1 VSWR, at 130 g.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
A dual-polarization antenna can present a degraded or dead path on one hand while measuring correctly on the other. A single-polarization test fixture will not detect that; this one exercises both. Coupling is specified 2.5 dB minimum, 3.5 dB typical and 4.5 dB maximum, with both polarization paths characterised, so a functional check that passes on one hand and fails on the other becomes visible during integration rather than during commissioning. The RF shielded enclosure protects personnel during bench transmit and prevents S-band energy escaping the test area. The hat seats on mounting features already present on the antenna, requires no bracket on the spacecraft panel, and dismounts without tooling. The envelope is 81 x 81 x 33 mm (3.2 x 3.2 x 1.31 in) at 130 g with an SMA female interface, rated -70 to +100 °C operating and storage. CSA-S-002-DC is the matching antenna.
