K/Ka-Band Dual-Port Horn Antenna, 20 dB

TRL 8

HA-KKA-002 is a COTS dual-port K/Ka-band horn antenna covering 17 to 30 GHz at 19 to 21 dBic gain, the high-gain configuration in this family. RHCP and LHCP are presented on separate 2.92 mm female ports from a shared aperture, with 2:1 VSWR and 10 W CW power handling. The machined body measures 168 x 80 x 80 mm at 250 g, for antenna range testing, K/Ka SATCOM link setups and RF laboratory characterisation.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Gain on a horn is a function of aperture and length, and this configuration trades size for approximately 5 dB over HA-KKA-001. The additional illumination recovers dynamic range on range-limited measurements at K and Ka band, and suits over-the-air SATCOM setups where the horn stands in for a ground terminal. Gain is specified 19 dBic minimum, 20 dBic typical and 21 dBic maximum across the full 17 to 30 GHz span, with 7 dB directivity. Both ports terminate in 2.92 mm female with port-to-port isolation designed into the feed. The horn is machined for durability in continuous laboratory and range use, rated -40 to +85 °C, at 168 x 80 x 80 mm (6.63 x 3.15 x 3.15 in) and 250 g. HA-KKA-001 is the compact 15 dBic configuration where positioner space or mass is constrained. Custom gain, aperture and interface configurations are available on request.
