K/Ka-Band Dual-Port Horn Antenna, 15 dB

TRL 8

HA-KKA-001 is a COTS dual-port K/Ka-band horn antenna covering 17 to 30 GHz, presenting RHCP on one 2.92 mm port and LHCP on the other from a shared aperture. Gain is 15 to 18 dBic with 2:1 VSWR and 10 W CW power handling, in a machined body measuring 91 x 46 x 46 mm at 100 g. Intended for TT&C and data links, K/Ka SATCOM, antenna range testing and RF laboratory characterisation.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Dual-port operation allows both hands of circular polarization to be measured without a mechanical swap and re-alignment mid-campaign, which keeps a characterisation dataset continuous. Thirteen GHz of continuous coverage spans K and Ka band in one part, serving both the 17 to 20 GHz downlink range and the 27 to 30 GHz uplink range without changing hardware. Gain is 15 dBic minimum and 18 dBic maximum across that span, with directivity of 10 dB and two 2.92 mm female connectors. The horn is machined for durability in daily laboratory and range use, rated -40 to +85 °C, at 91 x 46 x 46 mm (3.59 x 1.8 x 1.8 in) and 100 g. HA-KKA-002 is the 20 dBic configuration for range-limited measurements, and HA-KKA-003 is the compact waveguide probe for close-range work. Custom gain, aperture and interface configurations are available, including designs developed around an existing antenna geometry.
