CSA-L-002-RH is the high-gain configuration of the multi-band active GNSS antenna, delivering 35 dB of LNA gain across the same 1164 to 1591 MHz coverage of GPS L1/L2/L5, Galileo E1/E5 and NavIC L5. The additional 20 dB over the 15 dB variant is intended for long or lossy coaxial runs between a hull-mounted antenna and a receiver inside the bus. TRL 9, 500 krad(Si) tolerant, 310 g at 75 mA.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

This is the antenna to specify where cable loss, rather than the aperture, sets the receiver's carrier-to-noise ratio. On larger buses the run from an external GNSS patch to the receiver can cost 6 to 10 dB, and recovering that ahead of the cable is more effective than recovering it after. LNA gain is 33 to 39 dB on L2/L5/E5 and 32 to 38 dB on L1/E1, with 50 dBc rejection at 1650 MHz and 0.5 to 2.5 dB noise figure on the lower bands. Passive gain is 1 to 4.5 dBic RHCP with a stable phase center across the full band. Supply is 4.5 to 12 VDC at 75 to 85 mA, in a 97 x 97 x 27 mm (3.8 x 3.8 x 1.05 in) envelope at 310 g, under 1U, with an SMA female interface. The sealed and vented housing is built for the harsh conditions of LEO, MEO and GEO operation, addressing corona, multipaction, atomic oxygen and MMOD. Qualification is to NASA GEVS (GSFC-STD-7000) at 14.1 GRMS random vibration with humidity per MIL-STD-810 Method 507.6, across -70 to +100 °C, with 500 krad(Si) tolerance and no destructive single event effects to 37 MeV-cm²/mg. ATH-L-001-RH is the matching test hat and serves both gain configurations.
