It supports TT&C, launch and early orbit phase, and safe-mode communications on missions operating in the C-band space-to-Earth downlink segment. PRODUCT OVERVIEW

There is no meaningful commercial off-the-shelf market for C-band low-gain antennas, so a mission operating there is either designing one or doing without. This is a delivered configuration rather than a concept, developed and qualified for a confidential commercial spacecraft programme. Coverage is 0 dBic across a ±60 degree field of view over the standard C-band space-to-Earth downlink segment, with 200 MHz of usable bandwidth and no pointing requirement. Polarization is RHCP, VSWR holds below 1.5:1, and the interface is SMA female. Qualification follows NASA GEVS Table 2.4-3 with 14.1 GRMS overall random vibration, minimum resonant frequency verification, and a 0.25 g low-level sine sweep before and after vibration. Thermal cycling is to mission requirements, typically -50 to -110 °C low and +50 to +90 °C high. Antenna pattern and S-parameter testing run from 1 to 40 GHz, with workmanship inspection and acceptance testing before shipment. LGA-C-002-RH covers the C-band uplink and is normally flown as the pair. HGA-C-001-RH provides 18 dBic directional gain in the same band.
