HGA-C-001-RH is a custom C-band high-gain antenna covering 4.000 to 4.200 GHz with 200 MHz of bandwidth, delivering 18 dBic directional gain in RHCP. It supports high-data-rate spacecraft communications, directional TT&C and lunar or deep-space links, and is available as a flat panel or parabolic reflector depending on accommodation. Delivered for a commercial spacecraft programme, VSWR below 1.5:1 with an SMA female interface.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

High-gain and low-gain antennas on the same spacecraft perform different roles and are normally designed together. LGA-C-001-RH maintains the link at any attitude; this antenna carries the data once the spacecraft is pointed. Eighteen dBic over the same band is approximately a sixtyfold increase in received power. Configuration types are flat panel or parabolic reflector, with narrow-beam, high-directivity performance and RHCP polarization. VSWR holds below 1.5:1 through an SMA female interface. The design was delivered into a confidential commercial spacecraft programme and has been through a customer acceptance process. Qualification follows NASA GEVS Table 2.4-3 with 14.1 GRMS overall random vibration, minimum resonant frequency verification, and 0.25 g low-level sine sweeps before and after vibration. Thermal cycling is to mission requirements. Antenna radiation pattern and S-parameter testing run from 1 to 40 GHz, with workmanship inspection, acceptance testing before shipment and a Certificate of Conformance available on request. Custom high-gain configurations from L-band through Ka-band are developed per mission on low-volume programmes.
