20-dB Directional Coupler
20-dB Directional Coupler
DC-BB-002 is a COTS 20 dB directional coupler covering 8 to 40 GHz, the mid-coupling configuration in this family and the general-purpose choice for bench and integration work. Coupling is 19 to 21 dB with 13 dB minimum directivity, 1 dB typical insertion loss and 1.5:1 VSWR. The isolated port ships plugged with a 50 Ω termination. TRL 7, 2.92 mm female throughout, 30 g at 28 x 15 x 11 mm.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Twenty dB coupling takes a hundredth of the through power, which usually leaves enough signal for a spectrum analyser or power meter while perturbing the main line less than a 10 dB tap. Coupling is held to a 2 dB window, 19 dB minimum, 20 dB typical and 21 dB maximum, across the full 8 to 40 GHz span. Insertion loss on the through path is 0.5 dB minimum and 1 dB typical, half a dB better than the 10 dB configuration, which is the practical benefit when the coupler is left permanently in a test chain. Directivity is 13 dB minimum. The body is 28 x 15 x 11 mm (1.1 x 0.59 x 0.43 in) at 30 g with 2.92 mm female connectors, rated -40 to +85 °C operating and -70 to +100 °C storage. DC-BB-001 provides 10 dB coupling where the monitoring path needs more signal, and DC-BB-003 provides 30 dB where the main line must be minimally disturbed.
